CEED 2018, a national level entrance examination on behalf of Ministry of Human Resource Department (MHRD), is conducted by IIT Bombay in order to select the brighest candidates for admission to their various design courses. The entrance examination is known as Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED). The Design courses provided by IIT are Masters Degree in Designing (M.Des) and PHD. Based on the score of candidates in Part A, candidates will get admission to various institutions of IIT’s i.e, IISc Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Kanpur and other institutions.
CEED entrance examination tests the ability of the candidate to interpret and analyze various things in designing. The entrance examination is carried out in January in every year. Candidate can get an overall idea of CEED 2018 from here.

CEED Organizing Authority
The Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED) is carried out by IIT Bombay. All the rules and regulations will be generated and maintained by the conducting authority itself. Candidates can continuously monitor to their official web portal to get updates.

CEED 2018 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates always advised to check their eligibility criteria, before applying for CEED 2018. CEED provides admission to M.Des and PhD courses in design. Here gives the complete eligibility criteria for various courses under IIT.
- Candidate should possess their 10+2+3+2 level year’s degree or must have completed their diploma/ degree or post graduate (PG) degree of 4 years after 10+2 level.
- Final year appearing candidates can also apply for CEED 2018.
- Candidate should hold minimum aggregate of mark specified by the conducting authority.
There is no age limit is prescribed for CEED Entrance Examination 2018 by the conducting authority.
CEED 2018 Application Form
The candidates whom are interests in applying for courses under IIT Bombay can fill up the online application form from their respective education portal site. The candidates must be aware of the following factors will fill up the form:
- Application form will be available during the 3rd week of October 2017.
- Candidates can fill up the application form with necessary information such as personal details, educational details and etc.
- During the fill up process candidates needs to upload scanned copy of their recent passport size photograph along with digital signature and thumb impression and certificates copy (if it’s specified).
- Once the application form is submitted, then no corrections can be done.
- Candidates, who submit their application form after the final date, have to pay a late fee of Rs.500/- along with the application fee.
- Candidates are also advised to take print out of the submitted application form for further procedures if necessary.
The application fee will be varied according to the category of the candidate applying for CEED 2018. The application fee of CEED is as follows; the application fee is non – refundable.

CEED 2018 Exam Pattern
Exam pattern makes the candidate more aware of how the examination is carried out in every year. The exam pattern of CEED 2018 examination is as follows;
Mode of Exam: CEED entrance examination is conducted in 2 Parts.
- Part A will be conducted via online mode i.e, Computer Based Test (CBT).
- While for Part B, organizers will provide a separate answer book for each candidate.
Number of Papers: The CEED entrance exam has 2 papers. Paper A will test the design and drawing skills. In order to appear for part B, candidates must have to pass their Part A Examination.
Medium of Language: Question papers will be asked in both English.
Type of Questions: The questions will be of multiple choice objective type questions (Part I).
No of Questions: There are total of 50 questions in Part I, which consists of 3 sections;
- Section A consists of 5 Questions.
- Section B, contains 10 Questions.
- Section C, will have 25 Questions.
Syllabus: The syllabus will be changed according to the course for which the candidate is applied.
Duration of Exam: The total duration of CEED entrance examination is 3 hours in total.
- Candidate must attempt Part I in 1 hour.
- For Part II, 2 hours are allotted.
Marking Scheme: +2 marks are awarded for each correct answer.
Negative Marking: There is negative marking scheme in CEED 2018 for Part I.
- 6 will be deducting each wrong answer from Section 1 and Section 3.
Total Marks: The maximum mark for CEED 2018 examination is 100 marks.

The syllabus may change according to the stream for which the candidate is applying for. Syllabus oriented study will help every candidate in order to score higher in the CEED Entrance Examination. The syllabus will be published in the official web portal before the examination.

CEED Exam Centers 2018
The CEED 2018 examinations are conducted at various centres within India. The centres are:

Limit for CEED
Candidates can appear for any number of times for CEED. There is no limit for CEED.
CEED Admit Card 2018
Candidates can get access to their admit card during the month of December from the official website or web portal of IIT Bombay which will contain many essential information such as Exam date, Exam Time, Exam centre, Register number of the candidate, Name of the candidate and etc. Admit card will be in pdf format, candidate needs to download their admit card in order to appear for exam. All the candidates are requested to bring their admit card along with any of the valid identity proof such as vote id card, pan card, adhar card or etc. Candidates are not allowed to enter into exam hall without their admit card.
CEED Result 2018
The result of CEED 2018 will be published during the month of March 2018, 2nd week through online mode in the official web portal. All candidates can check their result or rank by enrolling the essential details such as register number, Date of Birth (DoB) and etc. Based on the score, a separate merit list will be published by the conducting authority for further procedures. Score card will be available for qualified candidates and they can download it from the web portal, for further admission procedures. The validity of CEED score card is 1 years.
CEED 2018 Counseling
The CEED 2018 Counseling process will be start after March 2018 onwards, after the publication of merit list. The entire qualified candidate will get admission to their desired institute in order to pursue their degree. All the candidates are advised to bring the entire original certificates and documents (SSLC Mark list, Plus two mark list, degree certificates, transfer certificate, score card of CEED, community certificate if applicable and etc) of the candidates, for further verification. Verification process will be carried out by the institution or Counseling conducting authority itself.
