HPCET 2018: Application, Eligibility, Important dates, Syllabus, Results

HPCET 2018The Himachal Pradesh Common Entrance Test (HPCET) is a state level engineering entrance exam. The entrance examination is conducted by the Himachal Pradesh Technical University. The entrance exam is conducted every year. The exam is conducted for offering admission to UG engineering courses. The candidates can get admission into B.tech/ B.E courses under the various participating institutes or colleges of the HPCET. For the year 2018, HPCET 2018 is going to conduct probably in the month of May. The candidates have to fill the application form in order to write the entrance examination. The documents can be submitted as per the scheduled dates.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidates who pass all the eligibility criteria will only be allowed to write the exam.  The eligibility criteria have to be checked and ensured before filling up the application form. The candidates should have passed intermediate 10+2 or its equivalent examination from a recognized board. He/ she should have scored at least 45% marks aggregate in the qualifying exam. The SC/ ST candidates have to obtain 40% marks only. The candidates should have Physics and Mathematics as mandatory subjects in the qualifying exam. He/ she should at least have one subject among Biotechnology, Chemistry, Biology and Technical Vocational.

HPCET Registration

After the checking the eligibility criteria’s, the candidates need to apply online. The HPCET application form will be available at official website. Candidates have to apply via online mode. The application form is likely to available in the month of March, 2018. The candidates have to provide all the personal information such as name, fathers name and academic qualification details asked in the application form. Fill all the details correctly and do not conceal any information otherwise it will cost later. Upload the scanned photograph and signature at the space specified. Make the payment of the application as it is mandatory requirement. Generate the print out of the application form and keep it with you safely.

Application Fee

After the registration process, candidates have to pay the application fee. The candidates have to pay a sum of RS.1250 as the application fee. The candidates from the reserved category have to pay RS.1100. The application fee can be paid through credit card, debit card or Net banking. The application fee once paid will not be refunded.

HPCET Exam Pattern

The candidate must follow the exam pattern for writing the entrance exam. The exam pattern given here are on the basis of the exams conducted throughout the years by the exam conducting authorities. The HPCET entrance exam will be held in the offline mode. The duration of the entrance exam will be 3.00 hours. The question paper will contain multiple choice questions. Every correct answer will be awarded with two marks. There will be negative marking and ½ marks will be deducted as penalty for each wrong answer. The language of the question paper will be English.

HPCET Preparation Tips

The Applicants have to prepare for the examination by following the syllabus of the entrance examination. In the first place the candidates have to prepare a time table. They should strictly follow that time table by dividing time to cover all the sections. The candidate should never exclude any part of the topic. Take the help from the best books. The study materials will be available in the internet or the market. Always Practice previous years question papers. Previous year sample papers will help you to know more about the exam pattern and it will be available from different sources. The best source of sample question papers will be the internet. The student must prepare for the exam both mentally and physically. While studying the students must be calm and peaceful.

HPCET Admit card 2018

The candidates found eligible will receive admit card on official website before the examination. The admit card for HPCET will be available in the month of May 2018. The candidates can obtain admit card via online mode only as there is no provision to send admit card via post. It is compulsory to bring the hall ticket to the examination hall. If the candidate comes without he/ she will not be allowed to write the exam. The Hall Ticket contains various details like the candidates name, exam venue, exam date and the other important details.

HPCET 2018 Syllabus

The syllabus of the Himachal Pradesh Common Entrance Test (HPCET) 2018 exam will include 12th standard Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Candidates should have command over the subjects. The competent authority has to add or delete subject from the syllabus prescribed for the HPCET.

HPCET Result 2018 

The announcement of the HPCET result will be made in due course of time after successful completion of the exam. Participants can check their results on the official website, http://www.himtu.ac.in/. It will be released after the commencement of the examination. By entering the candidate’s enrollment number or name you can check the results. The students must take a printout of the result. The print out of the mark list will be needed for further procedures. All the candidates will be invited to take part in the HPCET 2018 Counseling. Hard copy of the result will not be sent via post.

HPCET 2018 Counseling

The candidates will be short listed on the basis of the result. The shortlisted candidates have to appear for the counseling. The counseling is a part of the admission process. The applicants are required to pay requisite counseling fee for appearing in the counselling. The counseling process is likely to start in the month of June 2018. The admission of the candidates will not be finalized by the mere appearance in the counseling. The admission will depend on the score of the written exam, seat availability and document verification. The candidate must be present during the document verification
