NIMHANS 2018: Eligibility, Application, Admit Card, ResultsNIMHANS 2018 is a common entrance test which is organized for the candidates to go for graduation and post-graduation. The entrance test is organized by the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences renowned Psychiatry and Neuroscience Institute. Candidates those who are seeking to get admission in Under Graduate & Post Graduate courses will be able to appear for this entrance examination.  The application form for the examination will be published officially on the university website. The application form will be published on January 2018 tentatively. The exam will be in the month of March 2018 tentatively. The official updates and notifications will be available on the official portal, www.nimhans.ac.in/.

NIMHANS 2018 Eligibility Criteria

For B.Sc (Nursing)

     Age Limit: Candidates age should be in between 17 to 25 years

Nursing

Available seats: 77

  1. The candidates must have to pass the Pre-University examination organized by Department of Pre-University Education with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with a minimum of 45% marks in the respective subjects.
  2. The candidate must also have to possess a Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (12 years course) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as main subject and possess a minimum of 45% marks.
  3. The candidates must possess a Senior School Certificate examination Pre-Degree Examination (10+2) with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology and English as main subject and possess a minimum of 45% marks.

Radiography

  • Available seats: 10
  1. The candidates must have to pass in Pre-University examination organized by Department of Pre-University Education with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as main subject and possess a minimum of 45% marks.
  2. The candidate must have to possess a Job oriented Diploma course from a recognized Board with Diagnostic Radiographyas vocational subject or equivalent.
  3. Any equivalent examination from a institution which is recognized by the NIMHANS, Bangalore for the above purpose with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics as main subjects of study with a 45% of marks in aggregate.
  4. The candidate must have to be medically fit.

Anesthesia Technology

  • Available seats: 6

Candidates must have to pass in 2-year Pre-University examination or equivalent with a Science group by securing an aggregate of 45% in Science subjects.

M.Sc (Nursing)

  • Available seats: 09

The candidates those who are going to take admission in M.Sc. Psychiatric Nursing must possess the following qualifications: –

  1. Candidate must have to be a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife or must possess sny equivalent with any State Nursing Registration Council.
  2. The minimum educational qualification will be the certificate of B.Sc Nursing/B.Sc Hons. Nursing/ Post Basic B.Sc Nursing with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks.
  3. Candidate must be studied B.Sc Nursing/B.Sc Hons. Nursing/Post Basic B.Sc Nursing in an institution, which is recognized by INC.
  4. Candidates must possess a minimum of one-year experience after Basic B.Sc Nursing as on the day of counseling.
  5. Candidate must possess a minimum of one year of work experience prior to or after post Basic B.Sc Nursing as on the day of Counseling.
  6. Candidate must have to be medically fit.

M.Ch

Neurosurgery

  • Available seats: 10

The candidates can apply for M.Ch. Neurosurgery with specialty in the Neurosurgery for that candidates must have to possess a degree in MBBS or MS/DNB in General Surgery from any recognized institute or university.

MD

Psychiatry

  • Available seats: 31

The candidates can apply for MD Psychiatry with specialty in the Neurosurgery for that candidates must have to possess a degree in MBBS or DPM from a recognized institute or university.

Master of Public Health [MPH]

Available seats: 5

Candidates must have to qualify the MBBS degree from a University which is recognized by NIMHANS & registered with State Medical Council. Candidates must have to be working with central or Government health departments at the time of application.

Post Graduate courses

Age Limit:  Candidates age should not be more than 32 years (The Relaxation of 5 years will be availed for SC/ST & 3 years for OBC). Candidate’s age should not be more than 45 years in case of sponsored students.

DM

Neuroanesthesia

  • Available seats: 4

The candidates can apply for DM along with specialty Neuroanesthesia for that candidates must possess a degree in MD/DNB in Anesthesia/Anesthesiology from a recognized institute or university.

Child & Adolescent Psychiatry

  • Available seats: 4 (2 seats for sponsored students)

The candidates can apply for DM along with specialty Child & Adolescent Psychiatry for that the candidates must possess a degree in MD/DNB in Psychiatry from a recognized institute or university.

Neuropathology

  • Available seats: 2 (1 seat for sponsored students)

The candidates can apply for DM along with specialty Neuropathology for that the candidates must possess a degree in MBBS or MD/DNB in Internal (General) Medicine or Pediatrics from a recognized institute or university.

Neuroimaging & Interventional Radiology

  • Available seats: 4 (1 seat for sponsored students)

The candidates can apply for DM along with specialty Neuroimaging & Interventional Radiology for that the candidates must possess a degree in MBBS/MD or DNB in Radio diagnosis /M.Sc in Medical or Subjects/BE/B.Tech./M.Tech from a recognized institute or university.

Neurology

  • Available seats: 10 (4 for post MD/DNB & 4 for post MBBS)

The candidates can apply for DM along with specialty Neurology for that the candidates must possess a degree in MBBS or MD/DNB in Internal (General) Medicine or Pediatrics from a recognized institute or university.

Addiction Psychiatry

  • Available seats: 2 (1 seat for sponsored students)

The candidates can apply for DM along with specialty Addiction Psychiatry for that the candidates must possess a degree in MD/DNB in Psychiatry from a recognized institute or university.

NIMHANS 2018 Application

The candidates those who wish to apply for the courses offered by NIMHANS can only apply through online mode. The candidates must have to refer the following steps: –

    1. Registration
    2. Subscription
    3. Basic details
    4. Eligibility details
    5. Uploading of photographs, signature and documents
    6. Preview
    7. Payment
    8. Print of abstract

The application fee for candidates those who are from General category is Rs.1500/- and for candidates those who are from under SC/ST category is Rs.1000/-. The payment can be done through credit Card/ Debit Card or Online Transfer.

NIMHANS 2018 Selection Procedure

The selection of the candidates will be purely depending up on the marks scored in the Online NIMHANS 2018 Entrance Examination. Candidates those who are selected will be called for the Counseling process. The candidates have to submit the hard copy of the printed abstract of the application form along with the original certificates for verification. The candidates have to select their desired subjects in the counseling. The seat allocation will be done on the basis of reservation.
