Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences Entrance Test (NIMSET) is a state level entrance examination conducted by Nizam Institute of Medical Sciences, Hyderabad on rotation basis. It is a multi campus institute well known by University Grants Commission and Medical Council of India which offers admission for students in various medical courses. For the last 20 years, a journal called “The Clinical Proceedings of Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences” is issued every month, which shows the progress and the new developments of the institute. Admissions are offered on the basis of ranks secured by the students in the examination. NIMSET Eligibility Criteria 2018
Interested candidates have to check their eligibility before registration. The eligibility criteria issued by board of exam for NIMSET 2018 are given as follows:
Appearing candidate should be an Indian citizen. Candidates must hold a MBBS degree with an approval from MCI. Also applicants must complete their internship before applying for the exam. Experience and knowledge will be also evaluated. Applicants should score a minimum of 50% in post graduate medical course for general category, 45% for the disabled and 40% for backward classes. Applicants above the age of 24 only are eligible to apply for the examination.

NIMSET 2018 Application
For attending the examination candidates have to register online through the official website. Before filling the application form, candidates should read the instructions carefully. First of all, the application can be made through online only. Applicants should register with your personal details. Applicant must give full name and date of birth as given in the school certificate or equivalent examination. After the registration a user id and password will be received. Keep it for further registration and examination process. If in any case the password is forgotten, click on “forgot password” and follow the instructions carefully. After that, fill the application form with all necessary details asked. Fill the form without any mistakes. Otherwise application will be rejected. Upload the scanned photograph and signature in the prescribed format. Photograph and signature has to be uploaded in the size between 50-100 KB. Then submit the application form by paying the prescribed fees. Then take a printout of the generated application form for further verification.
An application fee of Rs. 2000/- has to be paid along with the application form. Fee can be paid either through online or as Demand Draft in favour of Director, Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences, payable at Hyderabad. Application fee once paid will not be refunded.
NIMSET 2018 Exam Pattern & syllabus
The entrance exam consists of 150 questions for 150 marks. Each question carries 1 mark. Options would be given to all the questions and the candidates have to select one correct answer. More than one answer to a question will not consider. It will be treated as wrong answer. There will be negative marking. 25 marks will be deducted for an incorrect response, i.e. if the candidate answers 4 questions incorrectly 1 mark will be deduced.
Exam Preparation Tips
- Candidates those who are attending the examination must have detailed knowledge about the pattern, syllabus, application procedures, fees and other necessary details regarding the exam which they are going to attend. This makes the exam easier.
- Time management is an important factor that affects the candidates. So, those who are preparing for the entrance examination needs to attend various online tests as much as possible. It will help to manage the time for the examination.
- Candidates are advised to practice lots of questions based on each subjects included in the exam syllabus. Previous year question papers will be also helpful.
- Candidates must try to secure more than 50% marks in the examination to reach the cut off’s.
- Candidates must obey all the rules and regulations laid down by the exam authorities. Also reach the examination hall 30 minutes before the examination time allotted.
NIMSET Admit Card 2018
Candidates can download the admit card from the month of June 2018, from the official website using the application number and password. The admit card contains details regarding the date, time and venue of the examination. It is compulsory for you to carry the admit card to the examination hall. If you fail to have it you would not be allowed to enter the exam hall.
NIMSET 2018 Result
Results of the entrance exam will be announced most probably in the month of July 2018. Candidates can download the score card from the official website using the application number and password. Candidates will get admission if they are eligible and get rank high enough to clear cut offs.
NIMSET Counseling 2018
Shortlisted candidates are then called for the counseling process according to the ranks scored in the entrance examination. Candidates have to report for counseling on the date and time specified in person. Candidates should carry their original mark lists while attending the counseling. The counseling process will starts most probably from July 2018. Document verification and seats allotment will be done during the counseling process. The candidates will have to check the official website to know more details counseling procedures. Candidates must carry all the required documents in original for counseling process.
